Voluntary Benefits

In addition to our core health insurance package, Linksys also offers employees the opportunity to purchase Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance through Aflac.

These benefits pay a fixed dollar benefit if you get hurt, have a hospital stay, or are diagnosed with a serious illness, and can help provide serious economic relief in serious circumstances.

Additional information can be found on the Linksys Aflac microsite: www.aflacenrollment.com/LinksysUSAInc/. Linksys also offers additional voluntary programs such as PerkSpot and CommonBond that can help save you money and provide assistance with everyday needs.

Group Accident Insurance

Accident insurance pays a fixed benefit directly to you (unless otherwise assigned) in the event of an accident, regardless of any other coverage you may have. Benefits are paid according to a fixed schedule that includes benefits for hospitalization, fractures and dislocations, emergency room visits, major diagnostic exams, physical therapy and more.  Please refer to the benefit summary for details of the benefits.

Group Critical Illness

Critical Illness insurance pays a fixed benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness after your coverage effective date. This coverage helps with the cost associated with a critical illness, such as lost income, child care, travel to and from treatment, high deductibles and copays.

Group Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Hospital Indemnity insurance provides financial assistance to enhance your current coverage. It helps you avoid utilizing your savings or having to borrow to cover out-of-pocket costs health insurance was never intended to cover. Hospital Indemnity insurance can help with expenses such as transportation and meals for family members, help with child care, or time away from work.

If you enroll for Group Accident insurance, Group Critical Illness or Group Hospital Indemnity insurance when you are first eligible (at hire), you will not be required to provide evidence of insurability (proof of good health). Covered employees who experience a qualifying event may add eligible dependents without evidence of insurability, as long as the enrollment is submitted within the required timeframe for a qualifying event. During Open Enrollment, employees who previously waived coverage of Group Accident insurance, Group Critical Illness or Group Hospital Indemnity insurance may enroll, however, evidence of insurability may be required.

Covered employees may cancel their Group Accident insurance, Group Critical Illness or Group Hospital Indemnity insurance coverage at any time during the plan year.

The Aflac Accident insurance, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity insurance plans are underwritten by Continental American Insurance Company (CAIC), a member of the Aflac family. CAIC is not licensed to solicit business in New York, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands. In California, coverage is underwritten by Continental American Life Insurance Company.
